Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is famous for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the movie Piano. She started her career by acting on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Acting has always been her love of life. In fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear as a result of mellitus, but didn't let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actress. The college she attended was drama, and then moved away from Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dreams. Through a random encounter, she found herself in an elevator with writer Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart the play that would become Hunter's debut. After moving in Los Angeles she tried to be a film actor and eventually landed a supporting role on Swing Shift. In the last three decades she's appeared in several TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
